Sound healing

The sound bath where the soul remembers primordial tones

In the beginning was vibration. The sound. The tone that resonated before any form took shape. The sacred song that carries all life within it.

Sound healing is an ancient method where sound, frequency and vibration are used to awaken the body, balance the mind and bring the soul closer to its own original sound.

It is a journey inward – not just through the ears, but through the entire system. Every cell listens. Every vibration reminds us of what we knew before we forgot with the help of ancient instruments such as gongs, crystal and healing bowls, shamanic drums, our own voice, flute and so much more.

Sound healing according to the shamanic medicine wheel is not just about technology, however. Not just about music... On the one hand, it works on frequency and vibration with our bodies - which to a large extent consist of water. Water, which reacts. And it doesn't end there - because on the other hand, it is about a form of ceremony where we can feel the presence and connection with something greater.

A path to deep resonance between body and cosmos. And when I work with the healing power of sound, I move in a larger field – in relation to the shamanic medicine wheel , where sound becomes a bridge between worlds.

The shamanic medicine wheel

Here we follow an ancient, sacred wisdom map that reflects the cycles of life, the rhythm of nature, and the journey of the soul. Each direction of the medicine wheel carries an energy, an element, and an animal - an aspect of who we are and what we can heal.

When I work with sound, I carry this map in my heart. I invite clarity, vitality, transformation, and wisdom; listening to the tones, feeling the vibrations - and what wants to be brought forward as I turn to the four cardinal directions:

East – Fire and the Eagle's Gaze

Here the vision is born. The spark of fire, the new, the longing of the soul. The eagle carries us high – so that we can see our life with clarity, see the whole from above. The language of fire is passion, transformation, the beginning. In the sound is the crackling pulse of fire, the will to fly freely. Bright, high notes awaken dreams and can open the inner eye.

South – Water and the Wisdom of the Serpent

Here we encounter our feelings, our vulnerability, our body. The element of water carries flow, movement, inner purification. The snake teaches us to shed our skin – to let go of the old, to let go. Deep, soft waves, tones that rock, touch the heart and free. Here tears are allowed to flow. Here we heal by feeling.

West – Earth and the Jaguar

In the West, death and rebirth dwell. Here we step into the shadows, letting go of what no longer serves us. The jaguar teaches us to move with courage through the darkness, without fear. The sounds here are darker, even deeper. The heartbeat of the drum, the pulse that takes us down into the underworld. Here lies the wisdom of what has been, and in the presence of the earth we are allowed to root ourselves again.

North – The Air and the Hummingbird's Song

North is the direction of the ancestors. The wind, the spirit, the silence that speaks. The hummingbird carries lightness and joy, the memory of the sacred in everyday life. Here the sound is like a prayer – a tone that moves between the worlds, like a whisper from those who have gone before. It can be a flute, a bell, a whispering voice. North carries gratitude and guidance.

The Middle – The Heart and That Which Unites

We live in the center of the medicine wheel. Here all directions, all elements, all time converge. It is the place where our own voice carries healing – when we allow ourselves to sound, to tone, to whisper our own songs. This is where sound healing becomes most personal: as an echo of your own soul. From here everything takes shape – from the center of the heart.

Sound Healing as Soul Therapy

When I work with sound, I use many different instruments, but also my own voice – sometimes soft, sometimes powerful. It does not carry a melody, but an intention. A prayer. It is intuitive. Spontaneous. The sound must find its way on its own. It knows where it is going. It is important to listen in – to the energy in the room, to what wants to come through.

However, it is not the sound healer himself who heals – it is you who remembers your wholeness, through the path of sound. The healer's role is to hold the space, to be a vessel - a channel - and to follow the intelligence of the vibration.

Science meets ancient wisdom

Research shows that sound vibrations affect the nervous system, brain waves, and the body's energy field. For example, singing bowls at certain frequencies can cause the brain to enter alpha or theta states – which promote deep relaxation, creativity, and self-healing.

People knew that sound heals long before measuring instruments. In many cultures, singing, drumming, mantras, flutes and instruments such as the didgeridoo or gong have been used to heal the body, clear energy fields and open contact with the spirit world.

Sound healing as a sacred language

Sound healing according to the shamanic medicine wheel - with its carrying tones between the worlds - has carried me through grief, transformation, silence, healing, dissolution... It has helped me come home to the body, to the breath, to the stillness - where I can just be. It has become one of the keys to my work - and I share it with reverence. Not as something you need to understand - but as something you can feel.

When you lie down and let the tones wash over you, you don't have to do anything. You just have to receive. The sound knows. Your soul knows.
