SPELLBOUND. Captured by the light
A whole universe of colors, hidden in a small piece of the ocean. Deep blue tones meet shimmering green and violet, and with every movement, something new is revealed. As if the colors had been waiting for that very moment when the light would find them.
A round cabochon of genuine paua, 8 mm, rests in a high-polish stainless steel setting. The sculptural ring band embraces the stone with soft, sweeping lines and allows its vivid play of colors to take center stage. The natural shimmer of the paua changes with the light and angle, sometimes appearing almost like a small aurora captured beneath the surface.
There is something quite special about paua. It needs no transparency to contain a whole spectrum of colors. Its beauty has grown from within, layer after layer, beneath the surface of the sea.

STYLING
SPELLBOUND has a presence that makes it beautiful when worn alone. The silver-polished ring band provides a modern, almost architectural expression, while the shifting colors of the paua add something soft and unpredictable. Against black, midnight blue, or deep forest green, its play of colors appears especially beautiful. Let it accompany you from a simple daytime shirt to evening silk or velvet. When the hand moves, the light changes, and the ring shows yet another side of itself. No angle is exactly like the other.
About Paua
Paua is a marine snail from New Zealand, closely related to abalone. On the inside of its shell, a natural layer of mother-of-pearl forms, whose microscopic structure refracts and reflects light. This creates the characteristic play of colors in blue, green, turquoise, and violet, an optical effect known as iridescence.
In modern spiritual symbolism, paua is associated with protection, intuition, emotional balance, and transformation. The rhythm of the sea is reflected in its shifting colors, while the protective nature of the shell has made it a symbol of security and care.
Paua is also associated with the third eye and the ability to see beyond the obvious. Its colors appear differently depending on how the light hits, just as something familiar can sometimes reveal a whole new side when we view it from a different perspective.
A reminder that what is within us sometimes needs a specific light to become visible.
