The heart as a compass

Which beads do I want to carry with me?

Life can sometimes feel like a thread where we attach bead after bead. Some days shine brightly and sparkle, others are simpler and more ordinary. But together they form a whole – our own story.

The question that lingers is: which beads do I want to carry with me when I look back?

It could be moments of laughter, of love, or when we helped our loved ones as best we could. Perhaps encounters where we felt understood or moments of stillness when we were completely in tune with ourselves.

Small things, perhaps, but in the end, it is often precisely those small moments that hold the greatest significance.

Which direction do I want to follow?

We make choices every day. Some are clearly visible – moving, changing jobs, choosing a partner. Others are so small that we barely notice them – like the tone we use in a conversation, or the decision to allow ourselves rest. But together they form a direction.

If we dare to let the heart be our map, the path will not always be the easiest. But it will be our own. The heart's compass points towards what feels authentic, even if it is sometimes uncertain. Therein lies meaning – in listening inward and daring to follow what rings true for us.

The day I summarize my life – what do I want to be able to say then?

It is a gentle but powerful question. Not to create worry but to remind us of what truly matters.

♡ Do I want to be able to say that I loved with all my heart?
♡ Do I want to remember that I laughed often even when circumstances were not perfect?
♡ Do I want to feel that I lived – for real, in both the simple and the grand?
♡ Do I want to know that I followed my own inner path even if it looked different from others'?

When we ask ourselves these questions now, they can help us live more consciously in the life we actually have ahead of us.

What do I want to carry with me?

✨ The memory of people who were close to me – the feeling of having shared time, care, and presence.
✨ That I dared to dream and realize, even when not everything went as I intended.
✨ That I forgave – both others and myself – so that I could be free.

These thoughts become like small road signs. Not demands, but reminders. They show the direction towards what feels meaningful.

How do I want to feel?

When I one day summarize my life ...

♡ Do I want to feel a gentle gratitude – not because everything was easy, but because I lived it fully.
♡ Do I want to feel that I stood by what mattered most to me – that I chose closeness over facades.
♡ Do I want to feel that I could meet myself with tenderness.

What do I want to pass on?

We always leave traces, whether we think about it or not. A glance, a word, an action can become a memory that lives on.

✨ Perhaps I want to pass on the feeling that those I love felt important – a warmth that lingered longer than words.
✨ Or the courage to dare to follow one's own heart – because I myself dared to walk the path.

What do I want to remember – already today?

When we let these questions settle within us, it becomes clear: it's not just about a distant future. It's about the present.

♡ Do I want to remember that I dared to speak about what I felt?
♡ Do I want to remember that I gave time to what matters most?
♡ Do I want to remember that I didn't wait too long but lived already now?

When we start answering these questions, we create memories that are already in the process of becoming the beads we one day want to carry with us.

The heart leads the way

Living with the heart as a compass does not mean that everything will be easy. But it does mean that the direction feels true. That we walk a path that is no one else's – but our own.

And perhaps that is exactly what we want to be able to say the day life is summarized:
that we both lived with our heart and listened to it – as our guide ❤️
